I’m Tim Kohl, detailer and founder of Safe-Shield. What began with an old Golf and a basic polishing machine is now an owner-run brand for professional car care.

From hands-on training in Orlando to trade shows in the USA and Dubai, we stay connected with fellow professionals. Today, our products reach customers as far as the USA.

In our polishing workshops, we share what works in everyday detailing. Practical experience and feedback help shape our product development.

How it all started.

  1. At 15. A red Golf Mk2.

    At 15, I used my pocket money to buy a faded red Golf II. My plan: detail it and sell it on. A DIY-store polisher and plenty of curiosity got me started.

  2. From automotive training to detailing.

    At 16, I began training as an automotive mechatronics technician. A chemist introduced me to coatings; in 2014, I applied my first ceramic coating.

  3. From 2015. Sharing with other detailers.

    Other detailers tried the products, often free of charge at first. Their feedback helped improve them.

  4. 2019. Hands-on experience becomes a brand.

    Safe-Shield launched in 2019 with ceramic coatings and our own polishes. Developed in the detailing business, supported by experienced chemists. I taught myself web design, bookkeeping and commerce.

Detailing experience meets chemistry.

We develop products from practical experience, together with experienced chemists and partner companies in Germany. Today, a team of four and freelance colleagues stand behind Safe-Shield. I still work as a detailer myself, staying close to our products, professionals and dedicated enthusiasts.
