Application

The standard combination is Perfect Finish with the Perfect Finish polishing pad. The Ultra Soft Pad is the targeted alternative for soft, dark or particularly sensitive paint.

  1. Prepare: Thoroughly clean and dry the surface, decontaminating if necessary. Work on clean, cool paint in the shade and start with a test spot.
  2. Apply: Apply a small amount of Perfect Finish to a clean Perfect Finish Pad or Ultra Soft Pad and spread evenly over a small, manageable area.
  3. Polish: Work in a controlled manner with a dual-action or rotary polisher. Work the polish evenly, clean the pad regularly and avoid excessive heat.
  4. Wipe off and inspect: Remove residue with a soft microfibre towel and inspect from different angles under suitable lighting. Before applying paint protection, prepare the surface according to that product's instructions.

Pad selection: The Perfect Finish Pad is the starting point for most paint finishes. For particularly soft, dark or sensitive paint, the Ultra Soft Pad provides a gentler finishing action.

Fully degrease before applying protection. Do not use in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces.

Pad selection

For an easy starting point on most paint finishes, use Perfect Finish polish + Perfect Finish polishing pad. The Ultra Soft Pad is the targeted option for soft, dark and particularly sensitive paint.

Perfect Finish polishing pad – standard: The matched combination for most paint finishes. Removes holograms and fine polishing marks, combining fine correction with a deep gloss.

Ultra Soft Pad – sensitive and dark paint: The particularly gentle combination for soft, dark and sensitive paint. Ideal for refining the finest finishing marks and maximising gloss with minimal cut.

Basic rule: Start with the Perfect Finish Pad. Switch to Ultra Soft for very soft, dark or sensitive paint as needed. Always check the combination on a test spot first.

Frequently asked questions

What is Perfect Finish suitable for?

Perfect Finish removes holograms, micro-marring and fine polishing marks, refining the finish for maximum clarity and depth of gloss. Black-One or Max Cut are better suited to more pronounced defects.

Is Perfect Finish always needed after Max Cut?

Perfect Finish is the recommended second step after heavier correction with Max Cut. It removes remaining polishing marks and refines the finish. The amount of finishing required depends on the paint, pad and previous result.

Which pad should I use?

The Perfect Finish polishing pad is the matched standard combination for most paint finishes. For particularly soft, dark or sensitive paint, we recommend the Ultra Soft Pad for a gentler finish.

Can I use Perfect Finish on its own?

Yes. It can be used independently of Max Cut to remove holograms and fine finishing marks and enhance gloss. Use Black-One or Max Cut first for more visible defects.

Do I need Perfect Finish after Black-One?

If Black-One has already produced a clean, satisfactory finish, another step is normally unnecessary. On particularly sensitive or dark paint, Perfect Finish can further refine the result.

Can I use it with dual-action and rotary polishers?

Yes. Adapt technique, pressure and machine settings to the paint, pad and desired finish. Avoid excessive heat.

Why is residue sometimes difficult to wipe off?

Common causes include working too large an area, excessive heat, too much product or a saturated pad. Work smaller areas, reduce heat and clean or replace the pad regularly.

Why Perfect Finish?

Perfect Finish is our finest silicone-free polish for holograms and micro-scratches. It refines the finish after correction, works predictably and wipes off easily. With the Perfect Finish Pad as standard or the Ultra Soft Pad for sensitive paint, you can tailor the finish – on its own to enhance gloss or as the second step after Max Cut.

Typical applications

When Perfect Finish is the right choice.

For removing holograms and fine polishing marks, or refining the finish after correction for maximum clarity and depth of gloss.

Holograms & fine polishing marks
Finishing after Max Cut
Dark & sensitive paint
Maximum gloss enhancement

Perfect Finish is not intended for correcting deeper paint defects. Use Black-One or Max Cut first for heavier defects.

Use on its own or as step 2 in the Safe-Shield two-step system

After cutting comes finishing.

Max Cut handles intensive defect correction. Perfect Finish then refines the result, removes remaining holograms and fine polishing marks and brings out maximum depth of gloss. The Perfect Finish Pad and Ultra Soft Pad let you adapt the finishing step to paint hardness and sensitivity.

Safe-Shield polishing system: choose the polish and pad combination to suit the paint condition.
